Chef Mario cooks with ketchup!
I normally don’t watch the Food Network but after having what was one of the best dinners I’ve ever eaten in San Francisco at Incanto a few weeks ago, I learned this match was going down.
When they flashed the scores, I was stunned: you lost by two points — smeared him on originality and were about even on taste, and most of the points you lost were for…plating?
The traditore sells pasta sauce in a jar. Enough said!
Dined at Incanto Friday the 25th. Molto Bene. Great seleciton of wine and even tried the lamb neck. Didnt know they had one. Fantastic flavor all around. Saw your cooking demo at the Ferry terminal Saturday AM. Your much better looking in person. Offals are not awful. Hope you get your own show.
Loved the match and I *really* loved the talon holding the garlic glove: That was pure genius. That said, I think the squab head with the brain was a bit over the top, even for Iron Chef. And I think they took it out on you in plating because, if I saw correctly (and I may not have) the head/brain bits were in the middle of a plate in a soupy sauce. It definitely looked messy on TV. Still, nice job, Chris!
If your cooking were as good as your spelling and your narrative drive, no wonder you think you need a rematch.
When I saw the episode…I was sooooo sure you were going to win!…I was soooooooo shocked Batali won….I lost $20 bucks!!!!
